Merrily We Roll Along
Pip Mushin, Director

A graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) and the Victorian College of the Arts (Film and Television) Pip has accumulated a wealth of experience as a director and actor in the Australian theatre, film and television industries.
Pip’s debut play Biloxi Blues, was nominated as one of the ‘Most Outstanding & Memorable Productions' of the year by the Victorian Drama League. Pip has also received critical acclaim for his direction of the musicals Falsettos (which received 11 nominations at the Victorian Music Theatre Guild Awards, including Best Director and Best Production) as well as Avenue Q (nominated for Best Director and Best Production at the Victorian Music Theatre Guild Awards). Pip’s other directorial credits include Laughter on the 23rd Floor, From Phantom to Figaro, Crossing Delancy, Into The Woods, A Midsummer Nights Dream, Yentl the Yeshivah Boy, Prick The Musical, Arafat In Therapy, La Serva Pedrona and Mother and Son - National Tour (Resident Director). Later this year Pip will be directing the Tony Award winning comedy Luv for Helen Ellis Productions.
Pip’s first feature film Josh Jarman (writer/director) starred Marcus Graham and Kym Gyngell. It was released Australia wide through Hoyts Cinemas and was selected for seven international film festivals including the prestigious SXSW Film Festival and the London Australian Film Festival (closing night film). Pip’s second feature film is currently in development. For television, Pip has worked as a director/producer on a variety of programs including Wine Me, Dine Me (Nine Network), Toon Time (Foxtel), The Late Report (Network Seven), Live and Kicking (Network Seven), Four Quarters (Network Seven) and Steve Vizard’s Tonight Live (Network Seven).
As an actor Pip is well known for his roles in Baz Luhrman’s Strictly Ballroom and the award winning TV series Frontline, as well as his featured role in Peter Jackson’s King Kong. Pip has also made guest appearances on numerous Australian television shows including Dr Blake Murder Mysteries, Halifax FP, The Secret Life of Us, Good Guys Bad Guys, Blue Heelers, Mission Impossible and Time Trax, as well as co-hosting the popular movie show, The Blockbuster Entertainment Show on Network Ten for 26 episodes. On stage, Pip has acted for many leading theatre company’s including the Melbourne Theatre Company and Playbox Theatre.
Philip Setton, Musical Director

Phil Setton is our Musical Director and this is his fifth show MD'ing for JYM. When not at rehearsals, Phil is an acoustics engineer, attempting to make the world a quieter place. He really is all about the music.
Brendy Ford, Choreographer

Brendy Ford is our ever fabulous choreographer. He joined JYM on stage in The Producers, earning him a Guild award nomination for Best Cameo. An experienced producer and choreographer, he has worked on various musical productions, as well as ARIA nominated electronic music duo Peking Duck's video Feel's Like. A regular both on and off stage he's appear in the Melbourne MIDSUMMA festival and is working on his next production with FORD&SLY.
Shari Cohen, Producer

Shari Cohen is the woman behind the behind the scenes. The captain of the ship and everyone's go-to for anything show related, Shari is thrilled to be taking on the challenge that is Merrily.
